We'll be building up a list of places of interest local to Sondes Arms that registered users can rate. This will help visitors to the area find the best places to go and might even provide some inspiration for us locals too.  Rockingham Castle
A short walk up the hill and looking down on us and the rest of its village is Rockingham Castle. Now the family home to James & Elizabeth Saunders Watson and their children as well as standing out as a real national treasure.
The Castle is open to the public on certain days as well as the grounds. Walkers House is a waitress service tea room and their gift shop is filled with a selection of lovely gifts which you would expect.
Anyone visiting the area needs to check the opening days and hours via the web link and go and look round one of Englands lovely castles which has been loved and lived in for over 900 years.
